Question [Apr. 30th, 2007|10:02 pm]
Geeks interested in Communications Technology

I am working on a television project where I need to throw together a new room looking set and I wanted to know if anyone could throw me any tips and tricks to make a professional looking newscast on a tight budget. I am looking to have a stylish desk with room for 3 people. I am based in London so should I look into finding a set designer? Student set designer?

Has this happened to anyone else? [Nov. 30th, 2006|09:38 pm]

Earlier tonight I received an E-mail from Current TV thanking me for voting in their Seeds of Tolerance contest, in spite of the fact that I didn't vote in it. I'm kind of freaked out that someone apparently got hold of my E-mail address and used it to vote in this contest, and I'm wondering if maybe anyone else has had this experience.

Please show your love for morning TV news by adding us as one of your friends!

That's right, the morning show I co-produce here in Kansas City has taken a flying leap into the teen sector---by jumping on the myspace.com bandwagon.

So, show your support (and help build up our friends list)! You can find us at http://www.myspace.com/moreinthemorning

Thanks!

A/E Film look plug-in/tutorial? [Aug. 11th, 2005|04:07 pm]

Is there a plug-in/tutorial for After Effects that'd give DVCPro the look of film?  I don't mean the old fashioned flicker effect from silent films, I'd just like to get the video to look less like... video.

How exactly do you create chapter points along the timeline in Sonic DVDit!? I've tried looking at their help files and their online KnowledgeBase, but they're both much too vague and abstract on the topic of creating chapter points.

Hello there,

I am Selina and I think I've come to the right place.

You see, I am buiding a tap detector (telephone bug).

I had a schematic for a home-built box that, when you hook it to your phone line, will light up, etc. - if there's a tap on the line. I have the skill, but lost the plans. I need a simple diagram for that box.

Does any of you know where to find that diagram/drawings? Or can you perhaps point me to the right direction?

I appreciate your help.

Greetings,
Selina

Hi. My name is Joan, and I also like to think of myself as a media geek. I am currently in the Telecommunications production program at UF. I've already done an internship at a tv news station in tampa, so I have some experience in the field. Once I graduate from UF, I really want to go to BGSU to get my masters in popular culture. From an early age the media has been a huge part of my life. However, I am currently looking for an internship wherever i can. But that's about all for now.
